Motivation to Help Essay Example for Free
Inspiration to Help Essay This paper talks about the social mental viewpoint on making a difference. It handles the components that lead individuals to support others and the hypothetical premise on such activities. It likewise remembers a reflection for the selfless property in making a difference. Inspiration to Help The homicide of Kitty Genovese in 1964 as one of the most upsetting situations where right around 40 individuals were observers yet none of them considered the police so as to safeguard her. This astounded social therapists with regards to how this was conceivable. The consequence of their examination was the arrangement of the idea of the Genovese Syndrome. This condition is conjectured to exist on certain crisis circumstances where individuals experience a dissemination of duty. This was a result of the idea that there will be somebody who will complete the duty (Alex, 2008). On an individual record, a case of this conduct was seen in the walkway close to a notable strip mall. A woman, roughly matured 50 years was strolling on the about packed asphalt when two men riding a bike grabbed her sack. It was not effortlessly taken from her since she attempted to safeguard herself and her assets. The battle made the two men shoot the woman until she was down on the walkway. The underlying response of the individuals there was to flee from the scene. At the point when the two men immediately left, the individuals gradually went towards the woman. No one aided until the woman shouted in torment. There are various elements that have come about to the absence of responsiveness of the individuals on the person in question. One of which is the observer impact. Since there are more individuals in the region, the duty of helping the casualty is isolated among them. Every one of these individuals had two options of whether they should act or trust that somebody will do it. Hence, the more individuals there are in the region implies that individuals feel less committed (ââ¬Å"The Bystander Effectâ⬠, n. d. ). Additionally, the shout of the woman may have some way or another frightened the individuals around her, which may have inspired the a few people to at long last assistance her. Essentially, there are five stages to aiding or prosocial conduct. As a matter of first importance, so as to help, there must be an acknowledgment that something is going on. It should likewise be deciphered as a crisis. The individual who is to help should likewise feel the duty towards the circumstance. He should likewise know how he is going to help. At long last, the expenses of aiding are likewise evaluated (Stocker, n. d. ). In this specific situation, the five stages were clear. Despite the fact that the underlying response was to run on account of the weapon shot, individuals realized that it was a crisis circumstance. In any case, on the grounds that there were many individuals, they didn't have a lot of duty regarding the circumstance in light of the suspicion that somebody will act. At the point when the woman shouted and the two men left, it was the point at which somebody helped, realizing that the expenses are as of now low and it was not, at this point hazardous. There are numerous hypotheses which clarify why individuals are roused to help. In any case, the most broadly acknowledged hypothesis regarding the matter is the hypothesis of Victor Vroom, known as the anticipation hypothesis. This essentially expresses individuals are persuaded to help since they are anticipating something consequently, for example, a prize, or a decent exhibition examination (Shah, n. d. ). In view of this hypothesis, the demonstration of aiding may not be genuinely benevolent due to the propensity to expect for something consequently. On the off chance that the one aiding doesn't need anything as a prize, it might be a direct result of other outside variables, for example, his social picture, religion, or the direct of the general public. By the by, extra aided could have been offered in the circumstance, knowing the there were many individuals in the circumstance. On the off chance that every one of them felt liable for the episode, all things considered, the wrongdoing would have been forestalled. References Alex. (2008, February 13). How to Develop a Stress Reduction Plan That Works
How to Develop a Stress Reduction Plan That Works Stress Management Management Techniques Print How to Develop a Stress Reduction Plan That Works By Elizabeth Scott, MS twitter Elizabeth Scott, MS, is a wellness coach specializing in stress management and quality of life, and the author of 8 Keys to Stress Management. Learn about our editorial policy Elizabeth Scott, MS Updated on June 24, 2019 How Stress Impacts Your Health Overview Signs of Burnout Stress and Weight Gain Benefits of Exercise Stress Reduction Tips Self-Care Practices Mindful Living Absodels / Getty Images While the bodyâs physiological stress responseâ"the fight or flight responseâ"is virtually universal, the way that stress impacts us is as unique to each individual as the events that cause us stress in the first place. Simply put, we all respond to stressful events in our own way, and our responses to stress affect us in ways that are unique as well. Why is this? Stress Triggers Weâre all affected differently by lifeâs events. While extreme events like a physical attack by a violent stranger or the diagnosis of a serious illness produce a strong stress response in virtually everyone, many everyday events on the job or at home will be experienced as stressful by some and exciting, challenging, or even exhilarating by others. What accounts for these differences? Past Experience: We all carry baggage, and that affects our current thought patterns and how we conceptualize whatâs going on today. These thought patterns impact whether we see something as positive or negative, challenging or stressful, etc.Temperament and Personality Traits: Some of us are simply born more reactive to stress than others. Differences in temperament can be observed in infants as young as one day old, and these traits affect how weâre affected by lifeâ"for life.Overall Lifestyle: Those who lead busy and stressful lives tend to have fewer reserves to help deal with stress. They also tend to encounter more triggers.Stress Symptoms: Some of us process stress differently, which can lead to certain coping skills being more effective or not effective at all. Stress Response Differences How we respond to stress can alter the impact that stress has on us. While some people will deal with a stressful day by hitting the gym or hugging their children, other people may drink to excess or lash out at others. Additionally, some people find stress to be a minor inconvenience while others are completely overwhelmed. Dealing with stress in a healthier way tends to create resilience, of course; ineffective coping can increase the negative effects of stress. What accounts for the different ways people deal with stress? Physiological Factors: Just like some people are just born more emotionally reactive, some have more sensitive physiology and find that stress impacts their blood pressure, induces headaches, or causes other physical responses. Likewise, the way you care for your body in terms of a healthy diet, quality sleep, and regular exerciseâ"or lack thereofâ"can impact your reactivity to stress.Coping Techniques: We all have our different ways of coping with stress, and some of these techniques are healthier and more beneficial than others. If you find that yourself using alcohol, emotional eating, or responding to stress in other less-than-healthy ways, itâs time to find new ways of reducing stress. Over time, theyâll become automatic, and will replace your more unhealthy responses.Learned Behavior: How we respond to the stress in our lives is shaped by our early experiences and cemented over time. Our habits play a role as well. Those with healthy habits tend to handle stress more effe ctively. Protective Factors Certain features in your life can also keep you somewhat insulated from stress. Those with a supportive network of friends and other personal resources tend to be less affected by stress and deal with their stress more efficiently. We canât stop stressors from being a part of life (and we wouldnât want to eliminate all stress, even if it were possible), which is why effective stress management focuses more on minimizing our triggers, altering our responses, and building up our resources and protective factors so that weâre less negatively impacted by stress. Because stress is such an individual experience, itâs important to have a stress relief plan that works for you. The following resources (as well as the links above) can help you to find ways to relieve stress that work best for your individual situation. You may want to quickly skim each resource and take away information that stands out to you, or focus more deeply on each resource and work on integrating the principles into your life in a more significant way. Stress Reliever Personality Test This stress reliever personality test will allow you to answer a few questions about your lifestyle and personality, and then direct you to stress relievers that may fit best for your particular situation. Itâs a useful tool for those who want to begin with techniques that are most likely to work for them. Emergency Stress Relief Resources If youâre feeling overwhelmed and just want something to help you relieve stress quickly, review these methods for reversing your stress response right away, so you can more effectively deal with the issues at hand. (They can provide a nice âquick fixâ until you can get more long-term stress management strategies in place.)

Theories of Project Management - Participation in the Foods Organic Project Free Essay Example, 1750 words
Carmona and Gro nlund (2003) believe that carrying out these responsibilities depends upon the capability and managerial ability of the person responsible for administering the project. Furthermore, according to Harris and Fleisher (2005), this also depends upon the team members with whom a project manager has to coordinate. For example, if team members are not skilful enough, it might lead to failure; but, an able project manager with his or her skills and technical knowledge can save the fate of that project singlehandedly. Therefore, in this context, I can say that I lack the ability to become a good project manager; but if the same is viewed from an alternate perspective, I can consider myself as an efficient and skilful project manager. The theory of project management describes that roles and responsibilities of a project manager are to develop a project plan, manage relationship with stakeholders of the project, manage the communication, administer entire team of the project, identify and mitigate project risks, schedule the project, create and comply with the allotted budget of the project, manage project conflicts and ensure timely delivery of the project to client/concerned authority. Chapter 18 The Weighing of the Wands Free Essays
When Harry woke up on Sunday morning, it took him a moment to remember why he felt so miserable and worried. Then the memory of the previous night rolled over him. He sat up and ripped back the curtains of his own four-poster, intending to talk to Ron, to force Ron to believe him ââ¬â only to find that Ronââ¬â¢s bed was empty; he had obviously gone down to breakfast. We will write a custom essay sample on Chapter 18 The Weighing of the Wands or any similar topic only for you Order Now Harry dressed and went down the spiral staircase into the common room. The moment he appeared, the people who had already finished breakfast broke into applause again. The prospect of going down into the Great Hall and facing the rest of the Gryffindors, all treating him like some sort of hero, was not inviting; it was that, however, or stay here and allow himself to be cornered by the Creevey brothers, who were both beckoning frantically to him to join them. He walked resolutely over to the portrait hole, pushed it open, climbed out of it, and found himself face-to-face with Hermione. ââ¬Å"Hello,â⬠she said, holding up a stack of toast, which she was carrying in a napkin. ââ¬Å"I brought you thisâ⬠¦.Want to go for a walk?â⬠ââ¬Å"Good idea,â⬠said Harry gratefully. They went downstairs, crossed the entrance hall quickly without looking in at the Great Hall, and were soon striding across the lawn toward the lake, where the Durmstrang ship was moored, reflected blackly in the water. It was a chilly morning, and they kept moving, munching their toast, as Harry told Hermione exactly what had happened after he had left the Gryffindor table the night before. To his immense relief, Hermione accepted his story without question. ââ¬Å"Well, of course I knew you hadnââ¬â¢t entered yourself,â⬠she said when heââ¬â¢d finished telling her about the scene in the chamber off the Hall. ââ¬Å"The look on your face when Dumbledore read out your name! But the question is, who did put it in? Because Moodyââ¬â¢s right, Harryâ⬠¦I donââ¬â¢t think any student could have done itâ⬠¦theyââ¬â¢d never be able to fool the Goblet, or get over Dumbledoreââ¬â¢s -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Have you seen Ron?â⬠Harry interrupted. Hermione hesitated. ââ¬Å"Ermâ⬠¦yesâ⬠¦he was at breakfast,â⬠she said. ââ¬Å"Does he still think I entered myself?â⬠ââ¬Å"Wellâ⬠¦no, I donââ¬â¢t think soâ⬠¦not really,â⬠said Hermione awkwardly. ââ¬Å"Whatââ¬â¢s that supposed to mean, ââ¬Ënot reallyââ¬â¢?â⬠ââ¬Å"Oh Harry, isnââ¬â¢t it obvious?â⬠Hermione said despairingly. ââ¬Å"Heââ¬â¢s jealous!â⬠ââ¬Å"Jealous?â⬠Harry said incredulously. ââ¬Å"Jealous of what? He wants to make a prat of himself in front of the whole school, does he?â⬠ââ¬Å"Look,â⬠said Hermione patiently, ââ¬Å"itââ¬â¢s always you who gets all the attention, you know it is. I know itââ¬â¢s not your fault,â⬠she added quickly, seeing Harry open his mouth furiously. ââ¬Å"I know you donââ¬â¢t ask for itâ⬠¦but ââ¬â well ââ¬â you know, Ronââ¬â¢s got all those brothers to compete against at home, and youââ¬â¢re his best friend, and youââ¬â¢re really famous ââ¬â heââ¬â¢s always shunted to one side whenever people see you, and he puts up with it, and he never mentions it, but I suppose this is just one time too manyâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ ââ¬Å"Great,â⬠said Harry bitterly. ââ¬Å"Really great. Tell him from me Iââ¬â¢ll swap any time he wants. Tell him from me heââ¬â¢s welcome to itâ⬠¦.People gawping at my forehead everywhere I goâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m not teiling him anything,â⬠Hermione said shortly. ââ¬Å"Tell him yourself. Itââ¬â¢s the only way to sort this out.â⬠ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m not running around after him trying to make him grow up!â⬠Harry said, so loudly that several owls in a nearby tree took flight in alarm. ââ¬Å"Maybe heââ¬â¢ll believe Iââ¬â¢m not enjoying myself once Iââ¬â¢ve got my neck broken or -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Thatââ¬â¢s not funny,â⬠said Hermione quietly. ââ¬Å"Thatââ¬â¢s not funny at all.â⬠She looked extremely anxious. ââ¬Å"Harry, Iââ¬â¢ve been thinking ââ¬â you know what weââ¬â¢ve got to do, donââ¬â¢t you? Straight away, the moment we get back to the castle?â⬠ââ¬Å"Yeah, give Ron a good kick up the -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Write to Sirius. Youââ¬â¢ve got to tell him whatââ¬â¢s happened. He asked you to keep him posted on everything thatââ¬â¢s going on at Hogwartsâ⬠¦.Itââ¬â¢s almost as if he expected something like this to happen. I brought some parchment and a quill out with me -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Come off it,â⬠said Harry, looking around to check that they couldnââ¬â¢t be overheard, but the grounds were quite deserted. ââ¬Å"He came back to the country just because my scar twinged. Heââ¬â¢ll probably come bursting right into the castle if I tell him someoneââ¬â¢s entered me in the Triwizard Tournament -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Heââ¬â¢d want you to tell him,â⬠said Hermione sternly. ââ¬Å"Heââ¬â¢s going to find out anyway.â⬠ââ¬Å"How?â⬠ââ¬Å"Harry, this isnââ¬â¢t going to be kept quiet,â⬠said Hermione, very seriously. ââ¬Å"This tournamentââ¬â¢s famous, and youââ¬â¢re famous. Iââ¬â¢ll be really surprised if there isnââ¬â¢t anything in the Daily Prophet about you competingâ⬠¦.Youââ¬â¢re already in half the books about You-Know-Who, you knowâ⬠¦and Sirius would rather hear it from you, I know he would.â⬠ââ¬Å"Okay, okay, Iââ¬â¢ll write to him,â⬠said Harry, throwing his last piece of toast into the lake. They both stood and watched it floating there for a moment, before a large tentacle rose out of the water and scooped it beneath the surface. Then they returned to the castle. ââ¬Å"Whose owl am I going to use?â⬠Harry said as they climbed the stairs. ââ¬Å"He told me not to use Hedwig again.â⬠ââ¬Å"Ask Ron if you can borrow -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m not asking Ron for anything,â⬠Harry said flatly. ââ¬Å"Well, borrow one of the school owls, then, anyone can use them,â⬠said Hermione. They went up to the Owlery. Hermione gave Harry a piece of parchment, a quill, and a bottle of ink, then strolled around the long lines of perches, looking at all the different owls, while Harry sat down against a wall and wrote his letter. Dear Sirius, You told me to keep you posted on whatââ¬â¢s happening at Hogwarts, so here goes ââ¬â I donââ¬â¢t know if youââ¬â¢ve heard, but the Triwizard Tournamentââ¬â¢s happening this year and on Saturday night I got picked as a fourth champion. I donââ¬â¢t who put my name in the Goblet of Fire, because I didnââ¬â¢t. The other Hogwarts champion is Cedric Diggory, from Hufflepuff. He paused at this point, thinking. He had an urge to say something about the large weight of anxiety that seemed to have settled inside his chest since last night, but he couldnââ¬â¢t think how to translate this into words, so he simply dipped his quill back into the ink bottle and wrote, Hope youââ¬â¢re okay, and Buckbeak ââ¬â Harry ââ¬Å"Finished,â⬠he told Hermione, getting to his feet and brushing straw off his robes. At this, Hedwig fluttered down onto his shoulder and held out her leg. ââ¬Å"I canââ¬â¢t use you,â⬠Harry told her, looking around for the school owls. ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢ve got to use one of these.â⬠Hedwig gave a very loud hoot and took off so suddenly that her talons cut into his shoulder. She kept her back to Harry all the time he was tying his letter to the leg of a large barn owl. When the barn owl had flown off, Harry reached out to stroke Hedwig, but she clicked her beak furiously and soared up into the rafters out of reach. ââ¬Å"First Ron, then you,â⬠Harry said angrily. ââ¬Å"This isnââ¬â¢t my fault.â⬠If Harry had thought that matters would improve once everyone got used to the idea of him being champion, the following day showed him how mistaken he was. He could no longer avoid the rest of the school once he was back at lessons ââ¬â and it was clear that the rest of the school, just like the Gryffindors, thought Harry had entered himself for the tournament. Unlike the Gryffindors, however, they did not seem impressed. The Hufflepuffs, who were usually on excellent terms with the Gryffindors, had turned remarkably cold toward the whole lot of them. One Herbology lesson was enough to demonstrate this. It was plain that the Hufflepuffs felt that Harry had stolen their championââ¬â¢s glory; a feeling exacerbated, perhaps, by the fact that Hufflepuff House very rarely got any glory, and that Cedric was one of the few who had ever given them any, having beaten Gryffindor once at Quidditch. Ernie Macmillan and Justin FinchFletchley, with whom Harry normally got on very well, did not talk to him even though they were repotting Bouncing Bulbs at the same tray ââ¬â though they did laugh rather unpleasantly when one of the Bouncing Bulbs wriggled free from Harryââ¬â¢s grip and smacked him hard in the face. Ron wasnââ¬â¢t talking to Harry either. Hermione sat between them, making very forced conversation, but though both answered her normally, they avoided making eye contact with each other. Harr y thought even Professor Sprout seemed distant with him ââ¬â but then, she was Head of Hufflepuff House. He would have been looking forward to seeing Hagrid under normal circumstances, but Care of Magical Creatures meant seeing the Slytherins too ââ¬â the first time he would come face-to-face with them since becoming champion. Predictably, Malfoy arrived at Hagridââ¬â¢s cabin with his familiar sneer firmly in place. ââ¬Å"Ah, look, boys, itââ¬â¢s the champion,â⬠he said to Crabbe and Goyle the moment he got within earshot of Harry. ââ¬Å"Got your autograph books? Better get a signature now, because I doubt heââ¬â¢s going to be around much longerâ⬠¦.Half the Triwizard champions have diedâ⬠¦how long dââ¬â¢you reckon youââ¬â¢re going to last, Potter? Ten minutes into the first taskââ¬â¢s my bet.â⬠Crabbe and Goyle guffawed sycophantically, but Malfoy had to stop there, because Hagrid emerged from the back of his cabin balancing a teetering tower of crates, each containing a very large Blast-Ended Skrewt. To the classââ¬â¢s horror, Hagrid proceeded to explain that the reason the skrewts had been killing one another was an excess of pent-up energy, and that the solution would be for each student to fix a leash on a skrewt and take it for a short walk. The only good thing about this plan was that it distracted Malfoy completely. ââ¬Å"Take this thing for a walk?â⬠he repeated in disgust, staring into one of the boxes. ââ¬Å"And where exactly are we supposed to fix the leash? Around the sting, the blasting end, or the sucker?â⬠ââ¬Å"Rounââ¬â¢ the middle,â⬠said Hagrid, demonstrating. ââ¬Å"Er ââ¬â yeh might want ter put on yer dragon-hide gloves, jusââ¬â¢ as an extra precaution, like. Harry ââ¬â you come here anââ¬â¢ help me with this big oneâ⬠¦.â⬠Hagridââ¬â¢s real intention, however, was totalk to Harry away from the rest of the class. He waited until everyone else had set off with their skrewts, then turned to Harry and said, very seriously, ââ¬Å"So ââ¬â yer competinââ¬â¢, Harry. In the tournament. School champion.â⬠ââ¬Å"One of the champions,â⬠Harry corrected him. Hagridââ¬â¢s beetle-black eyes looked very anxious under his wild eyebrows. ââ¬Å"No idea who put yeh in fer it, Harry?â⬠ââ¬Å"You believe I didnââ¬â¢t do it, then?â⬠said Harry, concealing with difficulty the rush of gratitude he felt at Hagridââ¬â¢s words. ââ¬Å"Course I do,â⬠Hagrid grunted. ââ¬Å"Yeh say it wasnââ¬â¢ you, anââ¬â¢ I believe yeh ââ¬â anââ¬â¢ Dumbledore believes yer, anââ¬â¢ all.â⬠ââ¬Å"Wish I knew who did do it,â⬠said Harry bitterly. The pair of them looked out over the lawn; the class was widely scattered now, and all in great difficulty. The skrewts were now over three feet long, and extremely powerful. No longer shell-less and colorless, they had developed a kind of thick, grayish, shiny armor. They looked like a cross between giant scorpions and elongated crabs- but still without recognizable heads or eyes. They had become immensely strong and very hard to control. ââ¬Å"Look like theyââ¬â¢re havinââ¬â¢ fun, donââ¬â¢ they?â⬠Hagrid said happily. Harry assumed he was talking about the skrewts, because his classmates certainly werenââ¬â¢t; every now and then, with an alarming bang, one of the skrewtsââ¬â¢ ends would explode, causing it to shoot forward several yards, and more than one person was being dragged along on their stomach, trying desperately to get back on their feet. ââ¬Å"Ah, I donââ¬â¢ know, Harry,â⬠Hagrid sighed suddenly, looking back down at him with a worried expression on his face. ââ¬Å"School championâ⬠¦everythinââ¬â¢ seems ter happen ter you, doesnââ¬â¢ it?â⬠Harry didnââ¬â¢t answer. Yes, everything did seem to happen to himâ⬠¦that was more or less what Hermione had said as they had walked around the lake, and that was the reason, according to her, that Ron was no longer talking to him. The next few days were some of Harryââ¬â¢s worst at Hogwarts. The closest he had ever come to feeling like this had been during those months, in his second year, when a large part of the school had suspected him of attacking his fellow students. But Ron had been on his side then. He thought he could have coped with the rest of the schoolââ¬â¢s behavior if he could just have had Ron back as a friend, but he wasnââ¬â¢t going to try and persuade Ron to talk to him if Ron didnââ¬â¢t want to. Nevertheless, it was lonely with dislike pouring in on him from all sides. He could understand the Hufflepuffsââ¬â¢ attitude, even if he didnââ¬â¢t like it; they had their own champion to support. He expected nothing less than vicious insults from the Slytherins ââ¬â he was highly unpopular there and always had been, because he had helped Gryffindor beat them so often, both at Quidditch and in the Inter-House Championship. But he had hoped the Ravenclaws might have found it in their hearts to support him as much as Cedric. He was wrong, however. Most Ravenclaws seemed to think that he had been desperate to earn himself a bit more fame by tricking the goblet into accepting his name. Then there was the fact that Cedric looked the part of a champion so much more than he did. Exceptionally handsome, with his straight nose, dark hair, and gray eyes, it was hard to say who was receiving more admiration these days, Cedric or Viktor Krum. Harry actually saw the same sixth-year girls who had been so keen to get Krumââ¬â¢s autograph begging Cedric to sign their school bags one lunchtime. Meanwhile there was no reply from Sirius, Hedwig was refusing to come anywhere near him, Professor Trelawney was predicting his death with even more certainty than usual, and he did so badly at Summoning Charms in Professor Flitwickââ¬â¢s class that he was given extra homework ââ¬â the only person to get any, apart from Neville. ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s really not that difficult, Harry,â⬠Hermione tried to reassure him as they left Flitwickââ¬â¢s class ââ¬â she had been making objects zoom across the room to her all lesson, as though she were some sort of weird magnet for board dusters, wastepaper baskets, and lunascopes. ââ¬Å"You just werenââ¬â¢t concentrating properly -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Wonder why that was,â⬠said Harry darkly as Cedric Diggory walked past, surrounded by a large group of simpering girls, all of whom looked at Harry as though he were a particularly large Blast-Ended Skrewt. ââ¬Å"Still ââ¬â never mind, eh? Double Potions to look forward to this afternoonâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Double Potions was always a horrible experience, but these days it was nothing short of torture. Being shut in a dungeon for an hour and a half with Snape and the Slytherins, all of whom seemed determined to punish Harry as much as possible for daring to become school champion, was about the most unpleasant thing Harry could imagine. He had already struggled through one Fridayââ¬â¢s worth, with Hermione sitting next to him intoning ââ¬Å"ignore them, ignore them, ignore themâ⬠under her breath, and he couldnââ¬â¢t see why today should be any better. When he and Hermione arrived at Snapeââ¬â¢s dungeon after lunch, they found the Slytherins waiting outside, each and every one of them wearing a large badge on the front of his or her robes. For one wild moment Harry thought they were S.P.E.W. badges ââ¬â then he saw that they all bore the same message, in luminous red letters that burnt brightly in the dimly lit underground passage: SUPPORT CEDRIC DIGGORY- THE REAL HOGWARTS CHAMPION! ââ¬Å"Like them, Potter?â⬠said Malfoy loudly as Harry approached. ââ¬Å"And this isnââ¬â¢t all they do ââ¬â look!â⬠He pressed his badge into his chest, and the message upon it vanished, to be replaced by another one, which glowed green: POTTER STINKS! The Slytherins howled with laughter. Each of them pressed their badges too, until the message POTTER STINKS was shining brightly all around Harry. He felt the heat rise in his face and neck. ââ¬Å"Oh very funny,â⬠Hermione said sarcastically to Pansy Parkinson and her gang of Slytherin girls, who were laughing harder than anyone, ââ¬Å"really witty.â⬠Ron was standing against the wall with Dean and Seamus. He wasnââ¬â¢t laughing, but he wasnââ¬â¢t sticking up for Harry either. ââ¬Å"Want one, Granger?â⬠said Malfoy, holding out a badge to Hermione. ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢ve got loads. But donââ¬â¢t touch my hand, now. Iââ¬â¢ve just washed it, you see; donââ¬â¢t want a Mudblood sliming it up.â⬠Some of the anger Harry had been feeling for days and days seemed to burst through a dam in his chest. He had reached for his wand before heââ¬â¢d thought what he was doing. People all around them scrambled out of the way, backing down the corridor. ââ¬Å"Harry!â⬠Hermione said warningly. ââ¬Å"Go on, then, Potter,â⬠Malfoy said quietly, drawing out his own wand. ââ¬Å"Moodyââ¬â¢s not here to look after you now ââ¬â do it, if youââ¬â¢ve got the guts -ââ¬Å" For a split second, they looked into each otherââ¬â¢s eyes, then, at exactly the same time, both acted. ââ¬Å"Funnunculus!â⬠Harry yelled. ââ¬Å"Densaugeo!â⬠screamed Malfoy. Jets of light shot from both wands, hit each other in midair, and ricocheted off at angles ââ¬â Harryââ¬â¢s hit Goyle in the face, and Malfoyââ¬â¢s hit Hermione. Goyle bellowed and put his hands to his nose, where great ugly boils were springing up ââ¬â Hermione, whimpering in panic, was clutching her mouth. ââ¬Å"Hermione!â⬠Ron had hurried forward to see what was wrong with her; Harry turned and saw Ron dragging Hermioneââ¬â¢s hand away from her face. It wasnââ¬â¢t a pretty sight. Hermioneââ¬â¢s front teeth ââ¬â already larger than average ââ¬â were now growing at an alarming rate; she was looking more and more like a beaver as her teeth elongated, past her bottom lip, toward her chin ââ¬â panic-stricken, she felt them and let out a terrified cry. ââ¬Å"And what is all this noise about?â⬠said a soft, deadly voice. Snape had arrived. The Slytherins clamored to give their explanations; Snape pointed a long yellow finger at Malfoy and said, ââ¬Å"Explain.â⬠ââ¬Å"Potter attacked me, sir -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"We attacked each other at the same time!â⬠Harry shouted. ââ¬Å"- and he hit Goyle ââ¬â look -ââ¬Å" Snape examined Goyle, whose face now resembled something that would have been at home in a book on poisonous fungi. ââ¬Å"Hospital wing, Goyle,â⬠Snape said calmly. ââ¬Å"Malfoy got Hermione!â⬠Ron said. ââ¬Å"Look!â⬠He forced Hermione to show Snape her teeth ââ¬â she was doing her best to hide them with her hands, though this was difficult as they had now grown down past her collar. Pansy Parkinson and the other Slytherin girls were doubled up with silent giggles, pointing at Hermione from behind Snapeââ¬â¢s back. Snape looked coldly at Hermione, then said, ââ¬Å"I see no difference.â⬠Hermione let out a whimper; her eyes filled with tears, she turned on her heel and ran, ran all the way up the corridor and out of sight. It was lucky, perhaps, that both Harry and Ron started shouting at Snape at the same time; lucky their voices echoed so much in the stone corridor, for in the confused din, it was impossible for him to hear exactly what they were calling him. He got the gist, however. ââ¬Å"Letââ¬â¢s see,â⬠he said, in his silkiest voice. ââ¬Å"Fifty points from Gryffindor and a detention each for Potter and Weasley. Now get inside, or itââ¬â¢ll be a weekââ¬â¢s worth of detentions.â⬠Harryââ¬â¢s ears were ringing. The injustice of it made him want to curse Snape into a thousand slimy pieces. He passed Snape, walked with Ron to the back of the dungeon, and slammed his bag down onto the table. Ron was shaking with anger too ââ¬â for a moment, it felt as though everything was back to normal between them, but then Ron turned and sat down with Dean and Seamus instead, leaving Harry alone at his table. On the other side of the dungeon, Malfoy turned his back on Snape and pressed his badge, smirking. POTTER STINKS flashed once more across the room. Harry sat there staring at Snape as the lesson began, picturing horrific things happening to himâ⬠¦.If only he knew how to do the Cruciatus Curseâ⬠¦heââ¬â¢d have Snape flat on his back like that spider, jerking and twitchingâ⬠¦. ââ¬Å"Antidotes!â⬠said Snape, looking around at them all, his cold black eyes glittering unpleasantly. ââ¬Å"You should all have prepared your recipes now. I want you to brew them carefully, and then, we will be selecting someone on whom to test oneâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Snapeââ¬â¢s eyes met Harryââ¬â¢s, and Harry knew what was coming. Snape was going to poison him. Harry imagined picking up his cauldron, and sprinting to the front of the class, and bringing it down on Snapeââ¬â¢s greasy head ââ¬â And then a knock on the dungeon door burst in on Harryââ¬â¢s thoughts. It was Colin Creevey; he edged into the room, beaming at Harry, and walked up to Snapeââ¬â¢s desk at the front of the room. ââ¬Å"Yes?â⬠said Snape curtly. ââ¬Å"Please, sir, Iââ¬â¢m supposed to take Harry Potter upstairs.â⬠Snape stared down his hooked nose at Colin, whose smile faded from his eager face. ââ¬Å"Potter has another hour of Potions to complete,â⬠said Snape coldly. ââ¬Å"He will come upstairs when this class is finished.â⬠Colin went pink. ââ¬Å"Sir ââ¬â sir, Mr. Bagman wants him,â⬠he said nervously. ââ¬Å"All the champions have got to go, I think they want to take photographsâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Harry would have given anything he owned to have stopped Colin saying those last few words. He chanced half a glance at Ron, but Ron was staring determinedly at the ceiling. ââ¬Å"Very well, very well,â⬠Snape snapped. ââ¬Å"Potter, leave your things here, I want you back down here later to test your antidote.â⬠ââ¬Å"Please, sir ââ¬â heââ¬â¢s got to take his things with him,â⬠squeaked Cohn. ââ¬Å"All the championsâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ ââ¬Å"Very well!â⬠said Snape. ââ¬Å"Potter ââ¬â take your bag and get out of my sight!â⬠Harry swung his bag over his shoulder, got up, and headed for the door. As he walked through the Slytherin desks, POTTER STINKS flashed at him from every direction. ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s amazing, isnââ¬â¢t it, Harry?â⬠said Colin, starting to speak the moment Harry had closed the dungeon door behind him. ââ¬Å"Isnââ¬â¢t it, though? You being champion?â⬠ââ¬Å"Yeah, really amazing,â⬠said Harry heavily as they set off toward the steps into the entrance hall. ââ¬Å"What do they want photos for, Colin?â⬠ââ¬Å"The Daily Prophet, I think!â⬠ââ¬Å"Great,â⬠said Harry dully. ââ¬Å"Exactly what I need. More publicity.â⬠ââ¬Å"Good luck!â⬠said Colin when they had reached the right room. Harry knocked on the door and entered. He was in a fairly small classroom; most of the desks had been pushed away to the back of the room, leaving a large space in the middle; three of them, however, had been placed end-to-end in front of the blackboard and covered with a long length of velvet. Five chairs had been set behind the velvet-covered desks, and Ludo Bagman was sitting in one of them, talking to a witch Harry had never seen before, who was wearing magenta robes. Viktor Krum was standing moodily in a corner as usual and not talking to anybody. Cedric and Fheur were in conversation. Fheur looked a good deal happier than Harry had seen her so far; she kept throwing back her head so that her long silvery hair caught the light. A paunchy man, holding a large black camera that was smoking slightly, was watching Fleur out of the corner of his eye. Bagman suddenly spotted Harry, got up quickly, and bounded forward. ââ¬Å"Ah, here he is! Champion number four! In you come, Harry, in you comeâ⬠¦nothing to worry about, itââ¬â¢s just the wand weighing ceremony, the rest of the judges will be here in a moment -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Wand weighing?â⬠Harry repeated nervously. ââ¬Å"We have to check that your wands are fully functional, no problems, you know, as theyââ¬â¢re your most important tools in the tasks ahead,â⬠said Bagman. ââ¬Å"The expertââ¬â¢s upstairs now with Dumbledore. And then thereââ¬â¢s going to be a little photo shoot. This is Rita Skeeter,â⬠he added, gesturing toward the witch in magenta robes. ââ¬Å"Sheââ¬â¢s doing a small piece on the tournament for the Daily Prophetâ⬠¦.â⬠ââ¬Å"Maybe not that small, Ludo,â⬠said Rita Skeeter, her eyes on Harry. Her hair was set in elaborate and curiously rigid curls that contrasted oddly with her heavy-jawed face. She wore jeweled spectacles. The thick fingers clutching her crocodile-skin handbag ended in two-inch nails, painted crimson. ââ¬Å"I wonder if I could have a little word with Harry before we start?â⬠she said to Bagman, but still gazing fixedly at Harry. ââ¬Å"The youngest champion, you knowâ⬠¦to add a bit of color?â⬠ââ¬Å"Certainly!â⬠cried Bagman. ââ¬Å"That is ââ¬â if Harry has no objection?â⬠ââ¬Å"Er -â⬠said Harry. ââ¬Å"Lovely,â⬠said Rita Skeeter, and in a second, her scarlet-taloned fingers had Harryââ¬â¢s upper arm in a surprisingly strong grip, and she was steering him out of the room again and opening a nearby door. ââ¬Å"We donââ¬â¢t want to be in there with all that noise,â⬠she said. ââ¬Å"Letââ¬â¢s seeâ⬠¦ah, yes, this is nice and cozy.â⬠It was a broom cupboard. Harry stared at her. ââ¬Å"Come along, dear ââ¬â thatââ¬â¢s right ââ¬â lovely,â⬠said Rita Skeeter again, perching herself precariously upon an upturned bucket, pushing Harry down onto a cardboard box, and closing the door, throwing them into darkness. ââ¬Å"Letââ¬â¢s see nowâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ She unsnapped her crocodile-skin handbag and pulled out a handful of candles, which she lit with a wave of her wand and magicked into midair, so that they could see what they were doing. ââ¬Å"You wonââ¬â¢t mind, Harry, if I use a Quick-Quotes Quill? It leaves me free to talk to you normallyâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ ââ¬Å"A what?â⬠said Harry. Rita Skeeterââ¬â¢s smile widened. Harry counted three gold teeth. She reached again into her crocodile bag and drew out a long acid-green quill and a roll of parchment, which she stretched out between them on a crate of Mrs. Skowerââ¬â¢s All-Purpose Magical Mess Remover. She put the tip of the green quill into her mouth, sucked it for a moment with apparent relish, then placed it upright on the parchment, where it stood balanced on its point, quivering slightly. ââ¬Å"Testingâ⬠¦my name is Rita Skeeter, Daily Prophet reporter.â⬠Harry hooked down quickly at the quill. The moment Rita Skeeter had spoken, the green quill had started to scribble, skidding across the parchment: Attractive blonde Rita Skeeter, forty-three, whoââ¬â¢s savage quill has punctured many inflated reputations ââ¬â ââ¬Å"Lovely,â⬠said Rita Skeeter, yet again, and she ripped the top piece of parchment off, crumpled it up, and stuffed it into her handbag. Now she leaned toward Harry and said, ââ¬Å"So, Harryâ⬠¦what made you decide to enter the Triwizard Tournament?â⬠ââ¬Å"Er -â⬠said Harry again, but he was distracted by the quill. Even though he wasnââ¬â¢t speaking, it was dashing across the parchment, and in its wake he could make out a fresh sentence: An ugly scar, souvenier of a tragic past, disfigures the otherwise charming face of Harry Potter, whose eyes ââ¬â ââ¬Å"Ignore the quill, Harry,â⬠said Rita Skeeter firmly. Reluctantly Harry looked up at her instead. ââ¬Å"Now ââ¬â why did you decide to enter the tournament, Harry?â⬠ââ¬Å"I didnââ¬â¢t,â⬠said Harry. ââ¬Å"I donââ¬â¢t know how my name got into the Goblet of Fire. I didnââ¬â¢t put it in there.â⬠Rita Skeeter raised one heavily penciled eyebrow. ââ¬Å"Come now, Harry, thereââ¬â¢s no need to be scared of getting into trouble. We all know you shouldnââ¬â¢t really have entered at all. But donââ¬â¢t worry about that. Our readers hove a rebel.â⬠ââ¬Å"But I didnââ¬â¢t enter,â⬠Harry repeated. ââ¬Å"I donââ¬â¢t know who -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"How do you feel about the tasks ahead?â⬠said Rita Skeeter. ââ¬Å"Excited? Nervous?â⬠ââ¬Å"I havenââ¬â¢t really thoughtâ⬠¦yeah, nervous, I suppose,â⬠said Harry. His insides squirmed uncomfortably as he spoke. ââ¬Å"Champions have died in the past, havenââ¬â¢t they?â⬠said Rita Skeeter briskly. ââ¬Å"Have you thought about that at all?â⬠ââ¬Å"Wellâ⬠¦they say itââ¬â¢s going to be a lot safer this year,â⬠said Harry. The quill whizzed across the parchment between them, back and forward as though it were skating. ââ¬Å"Of course, youââ¬â¢ve looked death in the face before, havenââ¬â¢t you?â⬠said Rita Skeeter, watching him closely. ââ¬Å"How would you say thatââ¬â¢s affected you?â⬠ââ¬Å"Er,â⬠said Harry, yet again. ââ¬Å"Do you think that the trauma in your past might have made you keen to prove yourself? To live up to your name? Do you think that perhaps you were tempted to enter the Triwizard Tournament because -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"I didnââ¬â¢t enter,â⬠said Harry, starting to feel irritated. ââ¬Å"Can you remember your parents at all?â⬠said Rita Skeeter, talking over him. ââ¬Å"No,â⬠said Harry. ââ¬Å"How do you think theyââ¬â¢d feel if they knew you were competing in the Triwizard Tournament? Proud? Worried? Angry?â⬠Harry was feeling really annoyed now. How on earth was he to know how his parents would feel if they were alive? He could feel Rita Skeeter watching him very intently. Frowning, he avoided her gaze and hooked down at words the quill had just written: Tears fill those startlingly green eyes as our conversation turns to the parents he can barely remember. ââ¬Å"I have NOT got tears in my eyes!â⬠said Harry loudly. Before Rita Skeeter could say a word, the door of the broom cupboard was pulled open. Harry looked around, blinking in the bright light. Albus Dumbledore stood there, looking down at both of them, squashed into the cupboard. ââ¬Å"Dumbledore!â⬠cried Rita Skeeter, with every appearance of delight ââ¬â but Harry noticed that her quill and the parchment had suddenly vanished from the box of Magical Mess Remover, and Ritaââ¬â¢s clawed fingers were hastily snapping shut the clasp of her crocodile-skin bag. ââ¬Å"How are you?â⬠she said, standing up and holding out one of her large, mannish hands to Dumbledore. ââ¬Å"I hope you saw my piece over the summer about the International Confederation of Wizardsââ¬â¢ Conference?â⬠ââ¬Å"Enchantingly nasty,â⬠said Dumbledore, his eyes twinkling. ââ¬Å"I particularly enjoyed your description of me as an obsolete dingbat.â⬠Rita Skeeter didnââ¬â¢t look remotely abashed. ââ¬Å"I was just making the point that some of your ideas are a little old-fashioned, Dumbhedore, and that many wizards in the street -ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"I will be delighted to hear the reasoning behind the rudeness, Rita,â⬠said Dumbledore, with a courteous bow and a smile, ââ¬Å"but Iââ¬â¢m afraid we will have to discuss the matter later. The Weighing of the Wands is about to start, and it cannot take place if one of our champions is hidden in a broom cupboard.â⬠Very glad to get away from Rita Skeeter, Harry hurried back into the room. The other champions were now sitting in chairs near the door, and he sat down quickly next to Cedric, hooking up at the velvet-covered table, where four of the five judges were now sitting ââ¬â Professor Karkaroff, Madame Maxime, Mr. Crouch, and Ludo Bagman. Rita Skeeter settled herself down in a corner; Harry saw her slip the parchment out of her bag again, spread it on her knee, suck the end of the Quick-Quotes Quill, and place it once more on the parchment. ââ¬Å"May I introduce Mr. Ollivander?â⬠said Dumbledore, taking his place at the judgesââ¬â¢ table and talking to the champions. ââ¬Å"He will be checking your wands to ensure that they are in good condition before the tournament.â⬠Harry hooked around, and with a jolt of surprise saw an old wizard with large, pale eyes standing quietly by the window. Harry had met Mr. Ollivander before ââ¬â he was the wand-maker from whom Harry had bought his own wand over three years ago in Diagon Alley. ââ¬Å"Mademoiselle Delacour, could we have you first, please?â⬠said Mr. Ollivander, stepping into the empty space in the middle of the room. Fleur Delacour swept over to Mr. Olhivander and handed him her wand. ââ¬Å"Hmmâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ he said. He twirled the wand between his long fingers like a baton and it emitted a number of pink and gold sparks. Then he held it chose to his eyes and examined it carefully. ââ¬Å"Yes,â⬠he said quietly, ââ¬Å"nine and a half inchesâ⬠¦inflexibleâ⬠¦rosewoodâ⬠¦and containingâ⬠¦dear meâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ ââ¬Å"An ââ¬Ëair from ze ââ¬Ëead of a veela,â⬠said Fleur. ââ¬Å"One of my grandmuzzerââ¬â¢s.â⬠So Fleur was part veela, thought Harry, making a mental note to tell Ronâ⬠¦then he remembered that Ron wasnââ¬â¢t speaking to him. ââ¬Å"Yes,â⬠said Mr. Ollivander, ââ¬Å"yes, Iââ¬â¢ve never used veela hair myself, of course. I find it makes for rather temperamental wandsâ⬠¦however, to each his own, and if this suits youâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Mr. Ollivander ran his fingers along the wand, apparently checking for scratches or bumps; then he muttered, ââ¬Å"Orchideous!â⬠and a bunch of flowers burst from the wand tip. ââ¬Å"Very well, very well, itââ¬â¢s in fine working order,â⬠said Mr. Ollivander, scooping up the flowers and handing them to Fleur with her wand. ââ¬Å"Mr. Diggory, you next.â⬠Fleur glided back to her seat, smiling at Cedric as he passed her. ââ¬Å"Ah, now, this is one of mine, isnââ¬â¢t it?â⬠said Mr. Ollivander, with much more enthusiasm, as Cedric handed over his wand. ââ¬Å"Yes, I remember it well. Containing a single hair from the tail of a particularly fine male unicornâ⬠¦must have been seventeen hands; nearly gored me with his horn after I plucked his tail. Twelve and a quarter inchesâ⬠¦ashâ⬠¦pleasantly springy. Itââ¬â¢s in fine conditionâ⬠¦You treat it regularly?â⬠ââ¬Å"Polished it last night,â⬠said Cedric, grinning. Harry hooked down at his own wand. He could see finger marks all over it. He gathered a fistful of robe from his knee and tried to rub it clean surreptitiously. Several gold sparks shot out of the end of it. Fleur Delacour gave him a very patronizing look, and he desisted. Mr. Ollivander sent a stream of silver smoke rings across the room from the tip of Cedricââ¬â¢s wand, pronounced himself satisfied, and then said, ââ¬Å"Mr. Krum, if you please.â⬠Viktor Krum got up and slouched, round-shouldered and duck-footed, toward Mr. Ollivander. He thrust out his wand and stood scowling, with his hands in the pockets of his robes. ââ¬Å"Hmm,â⬠said Mr. Olhivander, ââ¬Å"this is a Gregorovitch creation, unless Iââ¬â¢m much mistaken? A fine wand-maker, though the styling is never quite what Iâ⬠¦howeverâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ He lifted the wand and examined it minutely, turning it over and over before his eyes. ââ¬Å"Yesâ⬠¦hornbeam and dragon heartstring?â⬠he shot at Krum, who nodded. ââ¬Å"Rather thicker than one usually seesâ⬠¦quite rigidâ⬠¦ten and a quarter inchesâ⬠¦Avis!â⬠The hornbeam wand let off a blast hike a gun, and a number of small, twittering birds flew out of the end and through the open window into the watery sunlight. ââ¬Å"Good,â⬠said Mr. Ollivander, handing Krum back his wand. ââ¬Å"Which leavesâ⬠¦Mr. Potter.â⬠Harry got to his feet and walked past Krum to Mr. Ollivander. He handed over his wand. ââ¬Å"Aaaah, yes,â⬠said Mr. Ohlivander, his pale eyes suddenly gleaming. ââ¬Å"Yes, yes, yes. How well I remember.â⬠Harry could remember too. He could remember it as though it had happened yesterdayâ⬠¦. Four summers ago, on his eleventh birthday, he had entered Mr. Ollivanderââ¬â¢s shop with Hagrid to buy a wand. Mr. Ollivander had taken his measurements and then started handing him wands to try. Harry had waved what felt like every wand in the shop, until at last he had found the one that suited him ââ¬â this one, which was made of holly, eleven inches long, and contained a single feather from the tail of a phoenix. Mr. Ollivander had been very surprised that Harry had been so compatible with this wand. ââ¬Å"Curious,â⬠he had said, ââ¬Å"curious,â⬠and not until Harry asked what was curious had Mr. Olhivander explained that the phoenix feather in Harryââ¬â¢s wand had come from the same bird that had supplied the core of Lord Voldemortââ¬â¢s. Harry had never shared this piece of information with anybody. He was very fond of his wand, and as far as he was concerned its relation to Voldemortââ¬â¢s wand was something it couldnââ¬â¢t help ââ¬â rather as he couldnââ¬â¢t help being related to Aunt Petunia. However, he really hoped that Mr. Ollivander wasnââ¬â¢t about to tell the room about it. He had a funny feeling Rita Skeeterââ¬â¢s Quick-Quotes Quill might just explode with excitement if he did. Mr. Ollivander spent much longer examining Harryââ¬â¢s wand than anyone elseââ¬â¢s. Eventually, however, he made a fountain of wine shoot out of it, and handed it back to Harry, announcing that it was still in perfect condition. ââ¬Å"Thank you all,â⬠said Dumbledore, standing up at the judgesââ¬â¢ table. ââ¬Å"You may go back to your lessons now ââ¬â or perhaps it would be quicker just to go down to dinner, as they are about to end -ââ¬Å" Feeling that at last something had gone right today, Harry got up to leave, but the man with the black camera jumped up and cleared his throat. ââ¬Å"Photos, Dumbledore, photos!â⬠cried Bagman excitedly. ââ¬Å"All the judges and champions, what do you think, Rita?â⬠ââ¬Å"Er ââ¬â yes, letââ¬â¢s do those first,â⬠said Rita Skeeter, whose eyes were upon Harry again. ââ¬Å"And then perhaps some individual shots.â⬠The photographs took a long time. Madame Maxime cast everyone else into shadow wherever she stood, and the photographer couldnââ¬â¢t stand far enough back to get her into the frame; eventually she had to sit while everyone else stood around her. Karkaroff kept twirling his goatee around his finger to give it an extra curl; Krum, whom Harry would have thought would have been used to this sort of thing, skulked, half-hidden, at the back of the group. The photographer seemed keenest to get Fleur at the front, but Rita Skeeter kept hurrying forward and dragging Harry into greater prominence. Then she insisted on separate shots of all the champions. At last, they were free to go. Harry went down to dinner. Hermione wasnââ¬â¢t there ââ¬â he supposed she was still in the hospital wing having her teeth fixed. He ate alone at the end of the table, then returned to Gryffindor Tower, thinking of all the extra work on Summoning Charms that he had to do. Up in the dormitory, he came across Ron. ââ¬Å"Youââ¬â¢ve had an owl,â⬠said Ron brusquely the moment he walked in. He was pointing at Harryââ¬â¢s pillow. The school barn owl was waiting for him there. ââ¬Å"Oh ââ¬â right,â⬠said Harry. ââ¬Å"And weââ¬â¢ve got to do our detentions tomorrow night, Snapeââ¬â¢s dungeon,â⬠said Ron. He then walked straight out of the room, not looking at Harry. For a moment, Harry considered going after him ââ¬â he wasnââ¬â¢t sure whether he wanted to talk to him or hit him, both seemed quite appealing ââ¬â but the lure of Siriusââ¬â¢s answer was too strong. Harry strode over to the barn owl, took the letter off its leg, and unrolled it. Harry ââ¬â I canââ¬â¢t say everything I would like to in a letter, itââ¬â¢s too risky in case the owl is intercepted ââ¬â we need to talk face-to-face. Can you ensure that you are alone by the fire in Gryffindor Tower at one oââ¬â¢clock in the morning on the 22nd ofNovember? I know better than anyone that you can look after yourself and while youââ¬â¢re around Dumbledore and Moody I donââ¬â¢t think anyone will be able to hurt you. However, someone seems to be having a good try. Entering you in that tournament would have been very risky, especially right under Dumbkdoreââ¬â¢s nose. Be on the watch, Harry. I still want to hear about anything unusual. Let me know about the 22nd ofNovember as quickly as you can. Sirius How to cite Chapter 18 The Weighing of the Wands, Essay examples

The Catcher in the Rye Characters
'The Catcher in the Rye' Characters The Catcher in the Rye remains a singular creation, a novel that is wholly tied to the intelligent, immature, and tortured point-of-view of its main character, Holden Caulfield. In some ways Holden is the only character in The Catcher in the Rye, as everyone else in the story is filtered through Holdenââ¬â¢s perception, which is unreliable and often self-indulgent. The end result of this technique is that every other character and their actions must be judged in terms of Holdenââ¬â¢s evolution or lack thereof- are the people he meets really phonies or does he only see them that way? The fact that Holdenââ¬â¢s Voice still rings true today, while his unreliable nature makes understanding the other characters a challenge, is a testament to Salingerââ¬â¢s skill. Holden Caulfield Holden Caulfield is the sixteen-year-old narrator of the novel. Intelligent and emotional, Holden feels lonely and alienated from the world around him. He considers most of the people and places he encounters phony- hypocritical, inauthentic, and pretentious. Holden strives to present himself as a cynical and worldly person who sees through everyone elses tricks, but at times his own youthful naà ¯vetà © shines through. Holdens cynicism can be viewed as a defense mechanism, employed to avoid facing the pain of adulthood and its accompanying loss of innocence. Indeed, Holden adores his younger sister Phoebe and cherishes her innocence, which he equates to inherent goodness. His fantasy of playing the role of catcher in the rye serves to highlight this point: since Holden cannot restore his own innocence, he yearns to protect the innocence of others. Holden is an unreliable first-person narrator. All of Holdens experiences and interactions are presented from his own perspective, so the reader never gets objective information about the novels events. However, there are hints Holden is describing something of a fantasy version of himself, as when the women at the Lavender Room laugh after Holden convinces their friend to dance with him. Holden is obsessed with death, particularly the death of his younger brother, Allie. Over the course of the novel, his health seems to disintegrate. He experiences headaches and nausea and at one point loses consciousness. These symptoms may be real, but they could also be psychosomatic, representing Holdens increasing inner turmoil as he repeatedly tries and fails to find human connection. Ackley Ackley is a classmate of Holdens at Pencey Prep. He has bad hygiene and isnt very popular. Holden claims to despise Ackley, but the two boys go to the movies together, and Holden seeks out Ackley after his altercation with Stradlater. There are hints that Holden views Ackley as a version of himself. Ackley brags about made-up sexual experiences in much the same way that Holden feigns worldliness and life experience. In fact, Holden treats Ackley rather similarly to how other people treat Holden at different points in the story. Stradlater Stradlater is Holdenââ¬â¢s roommate at Pencey Prep. Confident, handsome, and popular, Stradlater is, in some ways, everything Holden wishes he could be. He describes Stradlaterââ¬â¢s inappropriate seduction techniques with breathless admiration, while at the same time clearly understanding how terrible Stradlaters behavior is. Holden is too sensitive to be like Stradlater- notice how he describes the girl he likes in terms of her interests and feelings, not her physicality- but there is a part of him that wishes he was. Phoebe Caulfield Phoebe is Holdenââ¬â¢s ten-year-old sister. She is one of the few people Holden does not consider phony. Smart and loving, Phoebe is one of Holdens only sources of happiness. She is also unusually perceptive for her age- she instantly perceives Holdenââ¬â¢s pain and offers to run away with him in order to help him. For Holden, Phoebe embodies the lost childhood innocence that he is mourning. Allie Caulfield Allie is Holdens late brother, who died of leukemia prior to the start of the novels events. Holden views Allie as a perfect innocent who died before he could be corrupted by knowledge and maturity. In some ways, the memory of Allie is a stand-in for Holdens younger self, the boy he used to be before the loss of innocence. Sally Hayes Sally Hayes is a teenage girl who goes on dates with Holden. Holden thinks Sally is stupid and conventional, but her actions dont support this assessment. Sally is well-read and well-mannered, and her self-centeredness seems more like developmentally-appropriate teenage behavior than a lifetime personality flaw. When Holden invites Sally to run away with him, Sallys rejection of the fantasy is rooted in a clear-headed analysis of their prospects. In other words, Sallyââ¬â¢s sole crime is not conforming to Holdenââ¬â¢s fantasy about her. In turn, Holden covers his hurt at being rejected by deciding Sally is not worth his time (a very adolescent reaction). Carl Luce Carl Luce is Holdens former student advisor from the Whooton School. He is three years older than Holden. At Whooton, Carl was a source of information about sex for the younger boys. When Holden is in New York City, he meets up with Carl, who is now nineteen and a student at Columbia. Holden tries to get Carl to talk about sex, but Carl refuses and eventually becomes so frustrated with the incessant questioning that he leaves. Holden also asks about Carls sexual orientation, a moment that suggests Holden may be questioning his own sexuality. Mr. Antolini Mr. Antolini is Holdens former English teacher. Mr. Antolini is sincerely invested in helping Holden, offering him emotional support, advice, and even a place to stay. During their conversation, he treats Holden with respect and acknowledges Holdens struggles and sensitivity. Holden likes Mr. Antolini, but when he wakes up to find Mr. Antolinis hand on his forehead, he interprets the action as a sexual advance and leaves abruptly. It is unclear whether Holdens interpretation is accurate, however, as the gesture could simply signify care and concern. Sunny Sunny is a prostitute that Maurice, the elevator operator-sum-pimp at the hotel sends to Holden. She appears to Holden to be quite young and immature, and he loses interest in having sex with her after observing some of her nervous habits. Holden comes to see her as being worse off than he is- a lone moment of sympathy for the character. She becomes, in other words, a human being to him instead of a sex object, and he canââ¬â¢t bring himself to do anything. At the same time, his loss of sexual desire could be seen as a lack of interest in the female gender.

Differences between Single and Marriage Life Essay
Differences between Single and Marriage Life - Essay Example It is evidently clear from the discussion that there are a number of factors such as friendship, freedom and money matters that one must consider before making a decision to marry or to stay single. However, it is undeniable that at least married and single individuals are both alike and different. Marriage changes a lot in peopleââ¬â¢s lives. Commitment to marriage implies that one has to be fully responsible for their spouses both materially and emotionally. Expenses are supposed to be managed economically and should be based on the family interest but not an individualââ¬â¢s interest. It is not easy for a married couple to be extravagant as it is likely to happen amongst singles. Moreover, married people have to exercise utmost obligation of taking care and raising their children in a responsible way. Children come with a lot of demands that ought to be met. Medical expenses, education, and food are some of the major expenses that every married couple must think about. Addit ionally, there are the issues of fixed time management amongst married people. A married person must always find time to spend with their children, wives or husbands almost on a daily basis unlike single people who have all the time to decide on what to do and at what time, even in the middle of the night. It is obvious that freedom amongst the married couples is always denied by the fact that their lives are always busier. Married people normally make decisions from a wifeââ¬â¢s or husbandââ¬â¢s points of view because they must think of themselves as husband and wife and that every decision they make affect their families as a whole. Although single people are always in control of their financial destiny they may be faced with high expenses of courtship thus making them spend more than they can in the name of wooing someone. On the other hand, married people may also enjoy their financial freedom by sharing their dual income but tax returns and perhaps childrenââ¬â¢s educa tional or medical expenses may be high. Married couples may at times experience disagreements amongst themselves while singles may also disagree with their roommates, friends or even annoying behaviors brought about by infatuation while dating. Additionally, it is common for both singles and married people to set higher objectives and goals for themselves. Both are always concerned about their future. Both would strive to have better future by creating aims that they want to achieve. For instance, single persons may decide to spend on education as a way of expecting better job or promotion in their careers. On the other hand, married people my plan for their young children better education or even plan to buy a home for their families. Also, the need to remain comfortable is shared amongst the singles and married couples. The more a married couple stays together, the more they get comfortable with their spouses and their lives in general. Singles too normally decide to stay single r elaxation, peace of mind and comfort is the hallmarks of singleness. Single people normally enjoy a lot of privacy in their lives because they are not bothered by anybody. They may decide what to do with their lives such as spending the whole day with their friends anywhere at any time because they live freely.Ã

The movement in stocks indicates that the stock prices have relatively swung over the period of last five years. Being overweight is associated with a higher risk if you have a medical problem such as diabetes and heart disease. Apart from limiting the physical and social activities, life expectancy was much shorter in the patient. The problem of obesity is becoming more prevalent among students. Obesity is the second most common disease in Malaysia after heart disease. Studies show that 15% of children aged 12 to 19 years have a problem of overweight and fatness. This problem is higher among children who come from poor families because of a lack of awareness of the importance of having the ideal body weight as compared to richer households. In this assignment, students are required to tell the causes of obesity and the ways to overcome it. Main body What causes obesity in teenagers? Among them are neither balanced diet. Balanced means that the calories and energy that must be earned at a rate equal to the amount of energy released or calories to be obtained through the diet and can only be removed through activities, exercises and so on. Teens often take advantage of snacks such as crackers, instant noodles and soft drinks as well as foods that are high in fat. They did not know that actually these foods contain high calories. Increases a persons weight when they eat more than what can be burned by the body and excessive calories are stored as fat. Weight gain and obesity and obesity resulting from excess intake of calories will not occur in a certain number or a week, but the fat in the body will be collected and stored for several months and years. To ensure that weight is always on a normal BMI or ideal weight, one must ensure that the energy in the body is at a normal, balanced diet. In addition, the duration of sleep can also contribute to obesity. If a person in bed, the individual is likely to have the disease of obesity. If a lack of sleep, the same problem will be faced, namely the risk of weight gain. Hormone released by the body during sleep will control the rate of appetite and energy levels in the body. For example, the hormone insulin to control sugar levels in the body when a person is sleeping. Therefore, if a person lacks sleep, the energy content of sugar in the body similar to diabetics. If teens do not have to sleep on an ongoing basis, they will have high hormone in the body called ghrelin. Ghrelin is a hormone that is responsible for increasing the rate of an appetite. At the same time, when a lack of sleep, the individual will also have low leptin content in the body. Leptin is responsible to suppress appetite. The main causes of this obesity is genetics. A gene of a person have a strong influence on a personââ¬â¢s weight. It is like, if a person has obesity, the person maybe inherited it from the parents. Obesity also tend to run in their families, or few of a family member has obesity since young. The chances of being obesity are greater if any one of their parents are obese or both mother and father are being obese. The genes in a personââ¬â¢s body could affect the amount of fat which is in your body. Even a child could adopt the habits of or from their parents, which is something like eating habits. Eating not in a very proper and controlled way will lead a person to obesity too. A personââ¬â¢s lifestyle choices are one the causes of being obesity. Overeating also can contributes to obesity. Nobody is following the food pyramid and control their eating habits according to the food pyramid. Some of them are in diet, but are they following the proper diet? These peoples thinks that they are in a correct way and following a good lifestyle. But they are eating a diet which is very high percentage in calories come from sugary, high in fat, refined foods promotes weight gain. In children lifestyle, there is no activity, outdoor activity which involves physically. These children are very inactive in physical activity. They are more interested in inactivity such as playing games, watching television, listening to music and so on. Lack of exercise contributes obesity to adults and it also makes them difficult to maintain weight loss. Age of a person is also playing an important role of being obese. As a person get or grew older, the person will tend to loss muscle if the person is less active. Muscle loss of a person can slow down the rate which it burns calories of a personââ¬â¢s body. If a person does not reduce the calorie intake as he grew older, the person might gain weight and being obese. Menopause is another cause of being obese. Many women gain their weight during menopause and gain more fat around their waist. Pregnancy is another factor for a woman being obese. Women gain weight when they are pregnant to support their babies gowth and development. But after giving birth, some women can easily lose their weight and for some women it is very hard to lose their weight. They even gain more weight. This may lead them to obesity. Lack of sleep can increase the risk of obesity. People who sleeps fewer hours are like people who likes eating food that is higher in calories and carbohydrates, which also brings them to overeating, gain weight and obesity. Getting a good sleep helps us maintain a healthy balance of the hormones which can makes us feel hungry or full. Lack of sleep results in a higher sugar level, which may increase our risk for getting diabetes. To prevent obesity caused by this problem, we should eat more vegetables, fruits and other protein sources such as fish. We also need to reduce the use of oil to fry food and cooking by steaming, baking or boiling. In addition, laziness and dislike of exercise is also a cause of obesity. When we pamper the body by not doing any exercise movement, the fat will continue to accumulate in our body. Finally, a chubby little body, plump, and fat. Therefore, we must exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes. Among the exercises that can be done by those who are lazy or difficult to perform the movement was brisk walk, swim, or play badminton. This exercise can prevent injuries. In addition, the increase in fast food restaurants and food sold in packages or cans also be a cause of obesity. Fast food restaurants such as KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut favorites, especially those who work because they no longer need to bother to cook a meal after a hard days work. Although the food is provided by fast food restaurants are tempting, people should be aware that food intake should be reduced because the food is not nutritious and contain levels of salt, sugar, and fat. Among the steps that can be taken to prevent ourselves from this problem is to adopt a well-balanced diet. We must take into account the need of carbohydrates, fat and nutrition in accordance with age. Therefore, we must make the food pyramid as a guide in the selection menu or foods for a healthier life. In addition, we must eat on time regularly, especially the three main meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) was the slogan healthy eating, healthy life to ensure that people eat a healthy diet. This is because we are not only healthier but happier and more secure life without diseases if we are wise in choosing healthy foods and a balanced diet every day. Aside from the diet and doing regular exercise, we should not be fooled by slimming products rising galore in the market. Various slimming products sold and advertised that can obscure the users eyes. HIV AIDS Older Adults Health And Social Care Essay
Human immunodeficiency virus ( HIV ) is a virus that kills the immune system ââ¬Ës cells, taking to a Immunodeficiency syndrome ( AIDS ) , which is when the immune system is weakened to the point where an single gets certain types of life-threatening diseases, infections, and malignant neoplastic diseases. HIV infection is frequently inapparent and can take every bit small as a few hebdomads to look as minor flu-like symptoms and ten old ages for more terrible symptoms, which may include concern, chronic cough, diarrhoea, conceited secretory organs, deficiency of energy, loss of appetency and weight loss, frequent febrilities and workout suits, frequent barm infections, tegument roseolas, pelvic and abdominal spasms, sores on certain parts of your organic structure, and short-run memory loss. Older grownups, aged 50 and older, may non detect these HIV symptoms because they may tie in them with normal aging ( HIV, AIDS, and Older Adults, n.d. ) . As people age, some ripening procedures are similar to the consequence of chronic HIV on the organic structure. Apoptosis, the natural mechanism for the organic structure to acquire rid of weak or damaged cells, can take to the break of the immune system, which can besides take to malignant neoplastic diseases ; this is occurs more frequently in older people with HIV. Older grownups with HIV besides experience immunosenescence, besides called immunologic ripening or exhaustion of T-cells, which causes a destructive high T-cell turnover and may be portion of premature ripening of the immune system ( Aging and HIV, 2010 ) . Anyone is at hazard of acquiring HIV/AIDS, which may be due to many different grounds. Peoples can acquire HIV from holding without utilizing rubbers if their sex spouse is HIV positive ; the virus would go through from the spouse to them through the exchange of organic structure fluids, including blood, seeds, vaginal fluid, by any gap such as a tear or cut in the liner of the vagina, vulva, phallus, rectum, or oral cavity. Peoples are besides at hazard if they do non cognize their spouse ââ¬Ës sexual and drug history ; they should inquire themselves if their spouse has been tested for HIV, how many different sex spouses they have had, and if they use any drug injections. Another hazard factor is if a individual injects drugs and portion acerate leafs or panpipes with other people ; this may non merely be applicable to drug users, other people, such as those with diabetes who inject insulin or pull blood to prove for glucose degrees, might portion acerate leafs. In add-on, if a individual has had a blood transfusion between 1978 and 1985 or in a underdeveloped state at any clip, he or she might be besides at hazard of undertaking HIV. However, the virus can non be contracted from insouciant contact, such as agitating custodies or caressing, sharing a drink or being sneezed on by a HIV positive individual, donating blood, and mosquito bites . Using public telephone, imbibing fountain, public public toilets, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, or hot bath besides does non set one at hazard ( HIV, AIDS, and Older Adults, n.d. ) . Peoples frequently believe that older grownups, 50 and older, are non at hazard for acquiring HIV because they do non hold sex, which besides contributes to the addition rate of among people in this age scope. However, surveies from the early 1990s provided informations that proved there is no alteration in sexual desire after the age of 50 and experts report that more than half of people over 50 are holding sex a couple times each month. However, older grownups know less about safe sex patterns late adolescents and immature grownups in their early mid-twentiess, which explains portion of the growing in the HIV population ( Cichocki, 2007 ) . HIV among grownups over 50 is nil new ; since the early 80 ââ¬Ës, HIV in individuals older grownups have accounted for about 10 per centum of all instances. Back in the yearss, HIV was chiefly transmitted by blood among the senior population, but today, heterosexual contact and needle sharing among IV drug users over 50 are the chief causes o f HIV among them ( Cichocki, 2007 ) . In add-on to cognize less about safe sex and HIV than the younger crowd, older grownups are less likely to speak about their sex life, are frequently neglected by healthcare workers and pedagogues, in footings of HIV/AIDS instruction and bar, and frequently non asked about their sex life or drug usage by physicians. It is a batch harder for physicians to detect HIV symptoms in an older grownup ( HIV, AIDS, and Older Adults, n.d. ) . Because older grownups may misidentify HIV/AIDS symptoms for the achings and strivings of normal aging, they are less likely to acquire tested for HIV/AIDS than younger people. In add-on, they may be embarrassed, ashamed, and fearful of being tested for HIV/AIDS, which is frequently considered a disease connected with holding sex and injecting drugs, which besides causes them to populate in isolation and to hold more terrible depression. For this ground, people age 50 and over may hold had HIV for old ages before being tested and by the clip they are diagnosed, the virus may already be in its most advanced phase. Older grownups who HIV most of the clip make non populate every bit long as immature people who have it. Many older people who have HIV/AIDS live in isolation because they are afraid to state household and friends about their unwellness. HIV/AIDS besides affects older grownups in another manner. Young people with HIV/AIDS can normally turn to their parents and grandparents f or fiscal support and nursing attention, but many older people have cared for their ain HIV positive kids and so for their orphaned and sometimes HIV positive grandchildren ; this can be mentally, physically, and financially run outing, particularly if the individual is HIV positive because they require more attending and attention ( HIV, AIDS, and Older Adults, n.d. ) . There may besides be a connexion between HIV and climacteric. Womans who are menopausal are no longer worried about acquiring pregnant and therefore may be less likely to utilize a rubber and pattern safe sex. Some menopausal adult females besides have vaginal waterlessness and cutting, intending they are more likely to hold little cryings and scratchs during sexual intercourse, which can set them at greater hazard for undertaking HIV. In add-on, due to the fact that adult females may populate longer than work forces and the lifting rate of divorce, there is an addition figure of widowed, divorced, or detached adult females get downing to day of the month ; since many of them do non understand how HIV is spread, they are at hazard of HIV transmittal ( HIV, AIDS, and Older Adults, n.d. ) . For many decennaries bar plans have been largely created for immature people ; merely a smattering has been aimed at older grownups. Simply seting images of old people on a posting or circular stating things such as stop AIDSs, wear a rubber, or pattern safe sex, is non plenty to forestall HIV transmittal among older grownups ; it is of import to understand the issue of aging and get bying with the challenges HIV will give. Harmonizing to Ory, Zablotsky and Crystal ( 1998 ) , in order to place older grownups ââ¬Ë AIDS-related hazards behaviours, and develop educational attacks and preventative schemes for modifying any hazardous behaviour, dedicated attempt is needed ( HIV/AIDS & A ; Older Adults, n.d. ) . There are some challenges to HIV/AIDS bar for older grownups. The first challenge is that older grownups are less likely to follow HIV bar schemes than immature grownups. HIV/AIDS is besides seldom discussed among people of the same community. In add-on, older grownups are non suspected of drug usage, which is a large error because older grownups are merely like everybody else and do the same things as everybody else. Many older grownups frequently show marks of hazardous sexual behaviours, do non utilize protection, usage IV drugs and portion acerate leafs. They besides find themselves dating once more because they might be a window, separated, or divorced, and holding sex without protection. Carolyn is an old adult female who got married three times and contracted HIV, from the drug trader who was populating her, by holding unprotected sex and sharing acerate leaf for drugs injections. She did non cognize about the virus until the drug trader who was live togethering with her got h ospitalized and her girl found out from the physician that he was deceasing from HIV and prohibited Carolyn from seeing her grandchildren as a consequence ( HIV/AIDS & A ; Older Adults, n.d. ) . Furthermore, there is grounds that some HIV infected older grownups have gotten it through sexual dealingss with the same gender. Pat is a HIV positive older grownup who has ever known he was homosexual since he was immature ; he was given four months to populate when he was diagnosed but has learned to get by with the disease with the support of his household. Older grownups besides do non hold proving and instruction attempts directed to them ( HIV/AIDS & A ; Older Adults, n.d. ) . Assorted factors should be considered in bar plans for older grownups. The best plans to work are normally those that are intensive. They should emphasize on alteration motive, attitudes, behavioural accomplishments, self-management schemes, and personal hazard decrease problem-solving. A good plan should besides be carefully made harmonizing to the cultural, lifestyle, relationship and normative beliefs and values of clients.A In add-on, gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, and relationship values of clientsA are factors that affect the aims, content, and issues that must be addressed during the HIV bar plan. It is really of import to non presume that patients are non at hazard, to give bar messages to patients ( they should be repeated at regular intervals ) , to learn other professionals to increase consciousness of the hazard factors to older grownups and work with them to inform the older grownup community. HIV infection should besides be tested when there are unexplained symptoms ( HIV/AIDS & A ; Older Adults, n.d. ) . In order to forestall HIV transmittal and inform older grownups, it is besides of import to be cognizant of the job ; older grownups and their health care suppliers are most of the clip non cognizant of the job. In 1997, Skiest and Keiser did a study of primary attention doctors ââ¬Ë beliefs, patterns, and cognition that pointed out many concerns. One of the concerns was that 69.7 % of the doctors said that grownups, 50 old ages and over, seldom or ne'er asked inquiries refering HIV or AIDS. 60.8 % besides said that they seldom or ne'er discussed HIV/AIDS with their patients who are 50 old ages and older, and 67.5 % of them seldom or ne'er discussed hazard factor decrease. Some of them besides said that they are more likely to ne'er inquire their older patients over 50 than their younger 1s under 30 about HIV hazard factors. In add-on, doctors did non rank the most prevailing hazard factors in patients over 50 in the right order, being: ( 1 ) male-male sex, ( 2 ) endovenous drug u sage, ( 3 ) blood transfusion, and ( 4 ) heterosexual sex. Physicians 40 and older were more likely to cognize the most prevailing hazard factor of HIV for older grownups. Family practicians were more likely toA seldom or ne'er askA older patients about hazard factors for HIV than other doctors. The study showed that primary attention doctors do non cognize plenty about HIV/AIDS hazard factors in older patients and do non speak enough about HIV and AIDS with older patients ( HIV/AIDS & A ; Older Adults, n.d. ) . It is of import to speak to older grownups about the hazards of HIV/AIDS and educate them on bar.
